The Center for the Study of Indigenous Border Issues is co-sponsoring a conference being held August 13-15, 2008, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. The conference theme is "Living Treaties" and is being organized and hosted by four area Tribes --Batchewana and Garden River First Nations (from north of the border), and the Bay Mills Indian Community and the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians (fron south of the border).
